Renewal Conditions

To renew their franchise agreement, WorldKids School franchisees must fully comply with all material provisions of the agreement, make necessary capital expenditures to maintain uniformity with the System, and satisfy all monetary obligations owed to WorldKids School or its affiliates. Franchisees must not be in default of any agreement, provide timely written notice of their intent to renew, and sign WorldKids School's then-current franchise agreement, which may have different terms. They also need to meet current qualifications, comply with training requirements, sign a general release (where permitted by state law), and pay a $5,000 renewal fee.

Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Before a WorldKids School franchisee opens their business, the franchisor provides an initial training program and guidance for establishing and operating the center. They also lend or provide access to an Operations Manual, offer assistance with setting product and service prices, and help with obtaining equipment, signs, fixtures, inventory, and supplies by providing specifications or approved supplier lists. WorldKids School offers limited help to ensure the premises conform to local codes and permits and assists with determining the type and number of employees to hire. After opening, WorldKids School provides ongoing advice and guidance via phone and electronic correspondence, offers additional training as deemed necessary, and provides updates to the Operations Manual.

Ongoing Support

After opening, WorldKids School franchisees receive ongoing advice and general guidance via telephone and electronic correspondence. WorldKids School also makes ongoing training available as needed, though franchisees are responsible for the cost (currently $500 per person per day plus expenses for in-person training). Franchisees are provided with modifications to the Operations Manual as they become available. Additionally, franchisees pay a 2% National Advertising and Development Fund fee (starting after 12 months of operation) which WorldKids School uses for various advertising methods to promote the brand.

Franchise Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

WorldKids School seeks individuals with strong financial resources, experience in the education industry, business experience, and robust marketing and sales plans, particularly for area developers. Franchisees or their designated managers must be highly involved in the day-to-day operations of the learning center, dedicating at least 40 hours per week. Additionally, candidates must possess teaching credentials as required by their state laws and be prepared to conduct background checks on employees who will be in contact with children.

Territory Size Requirements

WorldKids School defines its franchise territories as a specific geographic region, approved by radius, zip codes, or natural or political boundaries as outlined in the Franchise Agreement. Typically, a territory will encompass a 5-mile radius around the franchisee's outlet. The franchisor notes that a minimum size isn't strictly specified because highly populated areas can support outlets in closer proximity than less dense suburban areas.

Staffing Notes

WorldKids School estimates that a franchisee will initially need a Center Director and two teachers to operate their learning center in its first year. While the franchisor provides assistance in determining the type and number of employees to hire, franchisees are solely responsible for all aspects of employee management, including hiring, firing, compensation, payroll taxes, and day-to-day supervision. Franchisees are required to conduct background checks on any employee who will be in contact with children and must ensure staff teaching credentials comply with state laws.
