Corporate History
The Uni K Wax concept was founded by Noemi Grupenmager, who opened the first studio in South Beach, Florida, in April 1993. Uni K Wax Franchising, LLC, the current franchisor, was organized in March 2023 and began offering Studio franchises in June 2023. This followed its acquisition of the franchise system from its predecessor, UKW Franchising Company, LLC (UKW-FC), which had offered Studio franchises from October 2006 to April 2023. The franchisor itself has never directly owned or operated a studio. Affiliates include Uni K Wax Distribution, LLC, which supplies goods to franchisees, and Uni K Wax International, LLC, which has offered international franchises since April 2019.

Training & Support Program
Franchisor Assistance
Uni K Wax provides extensive support to its franchisees. Before opening, Uni K Wax offers access to its Brand Standards Manual and E-Studio platform, comprehensive initial training (including orientation, management, waxer instructor, waxer, and onsite preopening training), and designates a Project Manager to assist with design and construction. It also helps with site evaluation and provides specifications for required goods and services, along with a Startup Package from an affiliate. After opening, Uni K Wax offers ongoing access to proprietary products, guidance for operational improvement, and periodic training programs. It maintains a corporate website and a local webpage for each studio, administers a Brand Fund for advertising, and provides suggested retail pricing. Uni K Wax may also conduct periodic field visits for onsite consultation, provide additional requested training, establish a call center, negotiate favorable purchase agreements with suppliers, host conferences, and potentially establish a Franchise Advisory Council.

Franchise Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Uni K Wax is seeking franchisees who will designate a Managing Operator responsible for the overall management and supervision of the studio. This Managing Operator must be approved by Uni K Wax, successfully complete all required training programs, and dedicate full-time efforts to the business. While the Managing Operator is not required to be on-site at all times (a trained Designated Manager can cover), full-time dedication is expected for the overall management role. Financial requirements include a total investment ranging from $329,985 to $583,925, with specific discounts available for qualified veterans.

Staffing Notes

If the Managing Operator is not always on-site, a trained Designated Manager must be present during normal business hours to provide management and supervision. All Designated Managers must complete required training and sign a Brand Protection Agreement. Franchisees must hire enough Waxers to meet demand, and these Waxers must complete required training and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
