Corporate History

The Techie Kids Club business concept first opened in Florida in 2018 as a division of Kid Orange Tech. In 2020, the business was transferred to an affiliate, Techie Kids Club Inc., which expanded operations to Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and Texas. The current franchisor, TKC Franchising, LLC, was formed in September 2023 specifically to offer franchises for Techie Kids Club businesses and began franchising in October 2023. The franchisor itself has never directly owned or operated a Techie Kids Club business.

Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Before a Techie Kids Club franchise opens, the franchisor provides access to an operational manual and arranges for an affiliate to sell and deliver a Startup Kit of necessary items. It also helps develop and launch a microsite for the business and provides a suggested marketing plan with access to approved advertising materials. Initial training is provided for the Managing Owner and an initial manager. During operation, Techie Kids Club licenses the use of its proprietary TKC Tech Platform, maintains a corporate website, and its affiliate manages the microsite. It offers guidance and recommendations for improving business operations and provides periodic training programs. The franchisor also offers suggested retail pricing and may, but is not obligated to, establish a brand fund, conduct field visits, develop new classes or tools, negotiate supplier agreements, or arrange contracts with Corporate Accounts.

Ongoing Support

After opening, Techie Kids Club provides ongoing support in several ways. The franchisor offers guidance and recommendations to help improve business operations. It also provides periodic training programs, including mandatory refresher courses at corporate headquarters and virtual training. If operational deficiencies are found, remedial training may be required. Franchisees can also request additional training, though the franchisor is not obligated to provide it. Techie Kids Club may also hold periodic conferences to discuss business and operational issues, which are generally mandatory. The franchisor's affiliate provides ongoing maintenance and updates for the TKC Tech Platform and the franchisee's microsite. Additionally, Techie Kids Club may conduct field visits for onsite consultation, assistance, and guidance.

Territory Size Requirements

Techie Kids Club territories are defined geographically and typically include a range of schools. Most territories are designed to encompass 75 to 125 schools, specifically charter or private preschools and elementary schools. The smallest available territories will contain a minimum of 50 such schools. For area developers, the size of the development territory is determined by the number of individual Techie Kids Club businesses they commit to open, rather than a specific minimum or maximum geographic size. Territories may be defined by county boundaries, zip codes, or other methods chosen by the franchisor.

Staffing Notes

Techie Kids Club franchisees must designate a Managing Owner who is responsible for the overall management and operation of the business. This Managing Owner must complete all required training and dedicate a reasonable amount of time to supervising the Teachers or a hired manager. The Managing Owner is not required to teach classes or provide onsite management. Franchisees may hire a manager to manage the business and supervise Teachers; this manager must also complete training and sign a Brand Protection Agreement. Franchisees must employ a sufficient number of certified Teachers to conduct classes. Teachers are trained by the Managing Owner or manager, must pass background checks, and sign a Confidentiality Agreement. Franchisees are solely responsible for all employment-related decisions, including determining appropriate staffing levels, hiring, training, and supervising their employees. They must inform employees that they are the sole employer and use their legal business entity name on all employment documents.
