To renew their franchise, Talem Home Care franchisees must be in compliance with the terms of their Franchise Agreement and all ancillary agreements, and provide 180 days prior written notice of their intent to renew. They must also sign the franchisor's then-current Franchise Agreement and related agreements, execute a general release in favor of the franchisor, pay a renewal fee, and remodel and upgrade their business to meet current brand standards. Their owners must also comply with their agreements and personally guarantee the terms of the new renewal agreement, which may have materially different terms. Additionally, they must demonstrate the ability to continue operating the business and maintaining their administrative office in accordance with current standards.

Territory Size Requirements

Talem Home Care territories are defined by population. A Primary Operating Territory generally contains approximately 400,000 to 500,000 individuals. Franchisees may add up to three additional Zones to a Primary Operating Territory, with each Zone containing approximately 75,000 individuals. A Small Market Operating Territory consists of a geographic area with a population of less than 400,000 individuals. The franchisor determines these populations based on U.S. Census Bureau data or other publicly available data, without regard to demographics, and these determinations are fixed as of the franchise agreement's effective date.

Staffing Notes

For Home Care + Senior Placement Services or Home Care Only models, Talem Home Care requires the managing owner or a designated employee to serve as the operating manager/branch manager, and one employee (or a second managing owner) to serve as the designated salesperson. For Senior Placement Services Only, the managing owner or a designated operating manager must serve as the designated salesperson and placement consultant. Franchisees must hire and maintain a full-time salesperson for their operating territory. Depending on state requirements, franchisees may also need to employ an administrator or nurse.
