To renew their Stiltz Homelifts franchise agreement, franchisees must notify Stiltz Franchising in writing between 60 to 180 days before their current term expires. They must be in good standing, free of defaults, and not have received more than three default notices in the prior 12 months. A non-refundable renewal fee of $10,000 is required. Franchisees must renovate and upgrade their business and premises to meet current brand standards and ensure they have the right to maintain possession of their location for the successor term. They must also take any other actions Stiltz Franchising reasonably requires.

Franchisor Assistance

Stiltz Franchising offers several forms of assistance to its franchisees. Before opening, the company provides initial training, designates an Area of Primary Responsibility, loans the confidential Franchise Operations Manual, offers advice on site selection (requiring the use of an approved vendor), and reviews lease agreements. During operation, Stiltz Franchising informs franchisees of mandatory standards, offers advice based on reports or inspections, provides additional training for new hires, and allows continued use of its confidential materials and trademarks. Ongoing Support

After opening, Stiltz Homelifts franchisees receive ongoing assistance through various means. Stiltz Franchising informs them of mandatory operational standards, provides advice on business operations based on reports or inspections, and offers additional training for newly-hired personnel on brand guidelines. Franchisees are allowed to continue using confidential materials, including the Franchise Operations Manual and trademarks, and receive a list of designated and approved suppliers. Stiltz Franchising may also require franchisees and their key personnel to attend system-wide refresher or additional training courses, as well as national or regional meetings and conferences. Travel and associated expenses for attendees are the franchisee's responsibility, and a fee may be charged for additional or remedial training.

Franchise Requirements

If the franchisee is an individual, they must serve as the Responsible Owner, providing full-time, hands-on management and on-site supervision. Territory Size Requirements

Each Stiltz Homelifts franchisee is granted a designated Area of Primary Responsibility (APR) consisting of contiguous zip codes. While there are no explicit minimum size requirements in terms of population or square miles stated for the APR, its size is determined based on the geographic area, population properties, and other relevant demographic characteristics for a Stiltz Homelifts business. The franchisor provides sales leads within this APR. However, franchisees do not receive an exclusive territory and may face competition from other Stiltz franchisees, company-owned outlets, other channels of distribution, or competitive brands controlled by the franchisor.

Staffing Notes

Stiltz Homelifts franchisees are responsible for determining their own appropriate staffing levels and for hiring, training, and supervising all employees or independent contractors. Stiltz Franchising does not control the day-to-day activities or employment decisions of the franchisee's staff, and franchisees are solely responsible for all employment-related matters, including wages, benefits, and compliance with labor laws. Each franchisee must inform their employees that they are the sole employer and ensure employees sign prescribed acknowledgment forms. While franchisees may designate a manager (Franchise Manager) to handle daily on-site management, the Responsible Owner must still provide full-time involvement and supervision, or be prepared to step in if the manager is unavailable.
