Corporate History

Jack & Joe's Franchising, Inc. (JJFI) was organized in Minnesota on February 4, 2005, and began offering Squeegee Squad franchises in June of 2005. JJFI has several affiliates that support its operations: Jack & Joe's Management Company, Inc. (JJMC), established in December 2023, owns and licenses the Squeegee Squad trademarks to JJFI. Jack & Joe's Window Cleaning, Inc. (JJWC), founded in September 2001, previously operated Squeegee Squad businesses in Minnesota, Florida, and Kentucky, but sold these to franchisees by February 2011. JJWC now provides Squeegee Squad services in markets without franchisees. Joe's Window Cleaning, Inc., owned by JJFI's Co-President Joe Antonello, has operated a Squeegee Squad business since January 2006. Harry Falk Company is an affiliate that supplies window cleaning equipment, and Squadware, LLC, formed in March 2020, provides proprietary software to Squeegee Squad businesses.

Financial Health Notes

Squeegee Squad's financial condition, as noted in the Special Risks section of the FDD, raises concerns about its ability to provide services and support to franchisees. The company's audited financial statements show a recurring stockholder's deficit, which was ($377,677) in 2024, and its current liabilities substantially exceeded its current assets in 2024, indicating negative working capital.

Financing Details

This financing is provided through an installment promissory note, which bears interest at up to 18% per annum or the maximum legal rate, whichever is less. Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Squeegee Squad provides franchisees with various forms of assistance. Before opening, this includes a written schedule for supplies and equipment, a list of approved suppliers, initial training for the franchisee and their General Manager at a designated location (potentially in Minnesota), and up to one business day of pre-opening and grand opening assistance, which can be telephonic, electronic, or on-site. During operation, Squeegee Squad offers advisory services on window cleaning, customer service, and general operations. Franchisees receive the Operations Manual and its updates, a list of new approved vendors, and protection for the Squeegee Squad trademarks. Squeegee Squad may also conduct annual conventions. Optional additional training and consulting services on marketing, operations, accounting, and personnel are available, though these may incur additional fees.

Ongoing Support

After opening, Squeegee Squad provides franchisees with advisory services related to window cleaning, customer service, and general operations. They also loan a copy of the Operations Manual and its updates, provide lists of approved vendors, and work to protect the Squeegee Squad trademarks. Squeegee Squad may also organize annual conventions. Additionally, optional ongoing training programs are offered, which may incur a fee. Franchisees can request consulting services in their territory for marketing, operations, accounting, and personnel issues, for which Squeegee Squad reserves the right to charge a fee plus expenses.

Franchise Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Squeegee Squad does not require any specific prior experience to operate its franchise. While franchisees are not mandated to participate in the day-to-day operations, Squeegee Squad strongly recommends active involvement. If the owner chooses not to be actively involved, they must employ a General Manager approved by Squeegee Squad who will devote full-time efforts to the business.

Territory Size Requirements

Squeegee Squad territories have a general trade area with a population base ranging from a minimum of 100,000 up to 300,000 people. Squeegee Squad determines the specific boundaries, which are described in the Franchise Agreement. Larger territories, up to 1,000,000 or more in population, may be granted for an additional fee.

Staffing Notes

Squeegee Squad franchisees are solely responsible for all staffing decisions, including hiring a sufficient number of employees, setting terms of employment, scheduling, benefits, and compensation. Squeegee Squad emphasizes that it will not influence or advise on these personnel decisions, and all employees are solely those of the franchisee. If the owner chooses not to be actively involved in day-to-day operations, they must hire a General Manager who must be approved by Squeegee Squad, successfully complete the required training, and devote full-time efforts to the business. All managers and employees must also sign a confidentiality agreement.
