Renewal Conditions

To renew, Right at Home franchisees must be in good standing, meaning they have not defaulted on their franchise agreement and have complied with all obligations. They must provide evidence that they can retain their current office for the renewal term or have a new approved location. The business and its owners must fully meet Right at Home's current standards. Franchisees need to formally state their intent to renew, clear all financial debts to Right at Home and its affiliates, and pay a renewal fee. They are also required to sign the current successor franchise agreement, meet any updated qualifications and training requirements, and maintain all necessary licenses, insurance, and approvals to operate in their designated area. Finally, the franchisee and their owners must sign a general release of all claims against Right at Home and its affiliates.

Before opening, Right at Home helps with designating the territory, providing and approving office location criteria, and offering a pre-opening support plan for conversion franchises. Right at Home provides a 'RightStart Training Program' for the Operating Principal and up to two other individuals, which includes onboarding, residence week, and office open training. Franchisees also receive access to the Brand Standards Manual, a digital resource library, HIPAA compliance resources, and software templates. Right at Home hosts the franchisee's website pages and provides supplier lists. After opening, ongoing support includes phone and email assistance for operational questions, reviewing and approving franchisee advertising, updating supplier lists, and potentially arranging strategic alliances or negotiating group purchase rates. Right at Home may conduct on-site visits and offers software support and new service development. Franchisees must attend an annual conference (HIAC), complete online Profit Mastery University training after 12-24 months, and may be required to attend additional refresher training or specialized nursing services training if applicable.

Right at Home defines its franchise territories by specific zip codes. These Designated Areas are generally required to include a population of at least 15,000 individuals who are aged 65 or older.

Staffing Notes

Right at Home requires its franchisees to have at least two full-time equivalent staff members at all times, with one potentially being the Operating Principal. Additionally, at least one full-time staff member must have the authority to make employment decisions, manage employees, and actively market the business. Right at Home franchisees must conduct criminal background checks on all prospective and current employees.
