The company began offering franchises in 2006 under the CLOSET TAILORS® brand. From 2012 until March 2022, it operated as TAILORED LIVING® featuring PREMIERGARAGE®, offering both in-home and garage organization services. Effective November 1, 2022, the business bifurcated its offerings, with garage organization and flooring services now franchised under the PREMIERGARAGE® brand through this disclosure document, and in-home services under THE TAILORED CLOSET®.

Financing Details

PREMIERGARAGE® offers direct financing to qualified franchisees for a portion of the Initial Franchise Fee and Territory Fee, up to $44,000. This financing has a 0% minimum down payment, a 60-month term, and an interest rate of 10% per annum, resulting in monthly payments of $938.10. Franchisees can prepay the note without penalty. In case of default, the franchisee would lose the franchise and be responsible for the unpaid balance, attorney fees, and costs, waiving the right to notice.

Renewal Conditions

To renew their PREMIERGARAGE® franchise agreement, franchisees must pay a renewal fee of $5,000 for a single agreement, or $2,500 per agreement if renewing two or more simultaneously. They must also sign the franchisor's then-current franchise agreement, ensure they are not in default of any obligations, and make any necessary upgrades to the franchised business. The new agreement may have materially different terms and conditions.

Franchisor Assistance

PREMIERGARAGE® provides comprehensive assistance to its franchisees. Before opening, this includes designating the territory, approving any optional showrooms, granting the right to use its Marks, providing initial training, and supplying an Initial Start-Up Package with proprietary information for staff training. They also recommend standard equipment, tools, supplies, and inventory sources. Ongoing support includes policing the Marks, providing training on new products and methods, offering consultations during business hours, and making additional on-site training available (at the franchisee's expense). The franchisor may also hold annual conventions, assist with post-opening promotion and advertising, maintain a brand website and electronic portal for franchisees, and operate a toll-free telephone number for support.

Staffing Notes

PREMIERGARAGE® prefers franchisees who actively participate in the direct operation and daily affairs of their franchised business, rather than seeking a passive investment. If a PREMIERGARAGE® franchisee does not operate the business themselves, they must employ at least one full-time manager. If the franchise is operated as a company, this manager does not need to have an equity interest in the company. The franchisee must disclose the manager's identity and notify PREMIERGARAGE® in writing of any changes. The manager must complete the initial training program, dedicate their full time during normal business hours to the management, operation, and development of the franchised business, maintain confidentiality of trade secrets, and adhere to non-competition covenants. PREMIERGARAGE® franchisees are responsible for hiring additional full-time and part-time staff as they deem necessary to properly operate the business. PREMIERGARAGE® and its franchisees are not considered joint employers of the franchisee's personnel. The franchisee has sole authority to determine employee wages, benefits, compensation, hours, scheduling, duty assignments, supervision, work rules, discipline, hiring, discharge, and working conditions related to employee safety and health.
