Staffing Notes

Figaro's or Nick-N-Willy's franchised stores must always be under the direct, on-premises supervision of the franchisee or a trained and competent employee acting as a crew leader or manager. If a franchisee owns multiple locations or does not dedicate their full-time efforts to a single store, a full-time manager must be in place. The franchisee and their designated manager are required to attend and successfully complete a two-week training program before the store opens. This initial training cost is covered by the initial franchise fee, but travel and living expenses are the franchisee's responsibility. The franchisor provides a representative for 9-14 days during the first one to two months of operation to assist with establishing procedures and training personnel. All employees of Figaro's or Nick-N-Willy's stores must complete a training program directed by the franchisee or their designated manager. Employees must maintain a neat and clean appearance, wear standard uniforms, and provide friendly, efficient, sober, and courteous service. The franchisee is solely responsible for all employee-related matters, including hiring, firing, scheduling, wages, compensation, payroll taxes, worker's compensation, and benefits, and must comply with all federal and state labor laws. The franchisor does not directly control these aspects. Employees whose duties involve customer service must be sufficiently literate and fluent in English. Additionally, franchisees are prohibited from hiring any employee or independent contractor found guilty of fiduciary misconduct, unlawful sexual conduct, any felony, or similar charges that negatively reflect on their character and moral standing.
