Financial Health Notes

Next Day Access's parent company, CFC Holding Company, LLC, has reported significant net losses, with $(3,073,861) in 2024 and $(7,643,730) in 2023. The company also shows a substantial and increasing members' deficit, reaching $(27,438,644) in 2024, and made large distributions of $(16,307,300) in the same year. Long-term debt increased significantly to over $54 million in 2024. While the auditors issued an unqualified opinion, these financial indicators suggest potential concerns about the overall financial health of the parent company.

Financing Details

Next Day Access may offer direct financing to qualified prospective franchisees, covering up to 50% of the initial franchise fee. These loans carry a 10% annual interest rate and have a repayment term of 60 months. Payments begin on the franchisee's official opening date or six months from the contract date, whichever comes first, and are made through monthly electronic transfers. Next Day Access requires a security interest in all of the franchisee's business assets and a personal guarantee from all principals and their spouses. The franchisor may also finance a portion of any expansion fees for existing franchisees.

Renewal Conditions

To renew their Next Day Access franchise, franchisees must provide written notice between 6 and 12 months before the current agreement expires. They must be in good standing, having complied with all agreements with Next Day Access and its affiliates, and be current with all financial obligations to landlords, vendors, and the franchisor. If not operating from a personal residence, they must demonstrate the right to occupy the premises for the renewal term or gain approval for a new location. Franchisees are required to sign Next Day Access's then-current franchise agreement, which may have different terms, and a general release of claims. They must also comply with current qualification and training requirements, pay a $10,000 renewal fee, and complete any reasonably required renovation or modernization of their business.

Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Next Day Access provides initial training for the franchisee and one additional employee, covering topics from product evaluation and installation to marketing and software use. This training occurs at designated locations in Tennessee and the franchisee's approved location. Ongoing support includes guidance on operating issues, purchasing, advertising, employee training, and administrative procedures through manuals, bulletins, and consultations. Franchisees receive at least one field visit in their territory during the first 12 months, with additional visits at Next Day Access's discretion. Franchisees are required to participate in an annual conference and a regional meeting. Next Day Access also manages a required Contact Center for client services during the first 12 months and provides a Field Service Management Software, Google Workspace, and requires QuickBooks Online for accounting. Next Day Access controls the brand's website and may offer local features. The franchisor reserves the right to implement a national advertising fund (up to 2% of gross sales) and requires franchisees to meet minimum local marketing spending, which varies based on annual gross revenue. Optional additional assistance may be provided for a fee.

Ongoing Support

After opening, Next Day Access franchisees are expected to participate in ongoing support, which includes optional or mandatory refresher training courses (for which fees may be charged). Next Day Access provides continuous guidance on operational standards, purchasing, advertising, employee training, and administrative procedures. A representative will visit the franchisee's territory at least once during the initial 12 months of operation, with subsequent visits determined at Next Day Access's discretion. Franchisees are required to attend one national conference and one regional meeting annually, covering their own travel and lodging expenses, and facing an absentee fee if they or an approved employee do not attend. Additional guidance and assistance can be requested, potentially incurring per diem fees and travel expenses for Next Day Access personnel. Franchisees are required to utilize a Contact Center for the first 12 months of operation, with a monthly fee of $799 after the initial six-month period, which becomes optional thereafter.

Franchise Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Next Day Access seeks qualified individuals who are willing to make the necessary investment and effort to operate a franchise. Ideal franchisees are expected to dedicate full-time and best efforts to the management and operation of their business, overseeing it directly or through a manager who has completed Next Day Access's initial training program. The company encourages veterans, first responders, and current Next Day Access franchise employees to apply by offering special discounts on the initial franchise fee. Candidates must be able to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, and demonstrate strong commitment to maintaining brand standards and customer service.

Territory Size Requirements

Next Day Access territories, referred to as an Area of Primary Responsibility (APR), are generally defined by zip codes and designed to contain between 500,000 and 1,500,000 persons. For densely populated metropolitan areas, the target population ranges from 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 persons, while a minimum APR population of 500,000 may be considered for smaller, sparsely populated, rural markets. Franchisees are responsible for developing their assigned territory to meet minimum sales performance levels.

Staffing Notes

Next Day Access locations must operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in their respective time zones, with weekend hours at the franchisee's discretion. Each Next Day Access business needs to be managed directly by one of its principals or another individual who has successfully completed the initial training program. At least one person who has completed the initial training must be available during all specified operating hours. While there's no specific equity requirement for the supervisor, supervision by the franchisee or a principal owner is recommended. Next Day Access also requires franchisees to have an after-hours emergency phone number for customers. Employees who have access to confidential information, including managers, assistant managers, sales representatives, and installers (even if independent contractors), must sign non-competition and confidentiality agreements. Franchisees are solely responsible for all employment decisions, including hiring, firing, training, compensation, compliance with wage and hour laws, and personnel policies, and must maintain a competent and trained staff to ensure good customer relations and service quality.
