They will need to sign Musicologie's then-current franchise agreement, which may have different provisions, although the territory boundaries will remain the same. The continuing royalty rate upon renewal will not exceed the rate charged to new franchisees at that time. Franchisees must also pay a renewal fee of $5,000 when the new agreement is signed.

Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

They also provide initial training for the franchisee's Operating Principal, Community Manager, and Studio Trainer for the first two studios. Post-opening, Musicologie offers on-site assistance for the first two studios (up to three days at no extra cost) and may periodically meet or consult with franchisees, although there's no set schedule. Franchisees are provided with a confidential Operating Manual that is regularly updated. Musicologie also assists with approved supplier selection and marketing strategies.

Ongoing Support

Musicologie provides ongoing support to its franchisees by periodically meeting or consulting with them regarding studio operations, though there is no specific time, rate, or frequency for these consultations. Franchisees are also loaned a confidential Operating Manual, which is regularly updated with the proprietary system for operating a Musicologie Studio. Musicologie offers optional ongoing and remedial training programs for a fee, and can provide on-site assistance at the franchisee's request and expense after the initial grand opening support. Territory Size Requirements

Musicologie single-unit studios receive a Protected Area. In suburban areas, this area includes a population of at least 50,000 people, typically covering a radius of about 3-4 miles from the studio, adjusting for natural geographic boundaries. Musicologie reserves the right to define a more limited Protected Area in densely populated regions. Multi-studio developers receive an exclusive territory defined by the number of locations to be developed and individual negotiations. This territory's size will depend on factors like market area requested, population, developer's financial and organizational capabilities, and investment willingness.

Staffing Notes

Musicologie studios are required to have an Operating Principal, a Community Manager, and a Studio Trainer. The Community Manager or a trained manager must be present at the studio during all operating hours. The Operating Principal, who can also be the General Manager, is the primary contact for Musicologie and oversees the chain of studios. The Community Manager oversees each studio's day-to-day operations and staff training. The Studio Trainer is responsible for internally certifying teachers and other personnel. These key personnel must complete initial and ongoing training to Musicologie's satisfaction, and the Operating Principal's replacement requires Musicologie's approval. Musicologie specifies that staff should be well-trained, outgoing, enthusiastic, fun, and hospitable, aligning with the brand's values. Musicologie does not directly control hiring, firing, scheduling, or compensation of franchisee employees.
