Renewal Conditions

To renew their franchise agreement, Maid Brigade franchisees must provide written notice between six and nine months before the current term ends. They must be in full compliance with the agreement throughout the initial term and remain so at renewal. Franchisees are required to sign Maid Brigade's then-current standard franchise agreement, which may include different terms for royalties, advertising fees, sales quotas, and term length, though the territory boundaries will stay the same, and new fees will not exceed those imposed on similar renewing franchisees. A renewal fee and a general release of claims against Maid Brigade and its affiliates must also be signed.

Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Before opening, Maid Brigade helps with selecting the operating territory and provides a Start-Up Team for Pre-Opening Training, business planning, and opening preparations. They offer training (phone, web-based, in-person at designated locations, and visits to existing franchises), an initial package of materials, and access to their confidential operations manual and proprietary software. After opening, Maid Brigade provides ongoing support through a toll-free number and email, offers 'Blastoff Training' at the franchisee's office for setup and initial maid team training, assists with local advertising strategies during the first year, and assigns a dedicated support person for operational guidance, purchasing, and marketing. Franchisees can also participate in group purchasing programs and receive advice on pricing. Maid Brigade also holds a mandatory annual franchise conference for additional training and networking.

Franchisees can also participate in group-purchasing programs, receive pricing guidance, and are indemnified for proper use of marks. Attendance at a mandatory annual franchise conference/leadership summit, which includes educational workshops and speakers, is also part of the ongoing support.

Territory Size Requirements

Maid Brigade franchise territories are defined by the number of "Qualified Households." A standard territory for an initial franchise fee of $40,700 includes 30,000 qualified households. Mid-size market franchises (offered since 2023) have approximately 20,000 qualified households for a fee of $27,000. Additional households can be purchased for $1 each. A "Qualified Household" is defined as a household with an estimated annual income exceeding $100,000, which Maid Brigade determines in its reasonable business judgment. The geographic size of these territories varies, ranging from several counties in rural areas to a portion of a city in densely populated urban areas.

Staffing Notes

Maid Brigade requires franchisees to conduct business with supervised cleaning teams, typically consisting of two employees per customer's home. Franchisees are solely responsible for hiring, training, and compensating all employees. This includes performing background checks on all applicants to ensure they meet high standards of honesty and integrity. All management employees must either complete Maid Brigade's training program or be trained by the franchisee to the franchisor's satisfaction. Maid Brigade must consent in writing to the employment of all management personnel before they assume their roles, and these managers must sign a non-disclosure/non-compete agreement. Franchisees are also required to place sufficient employment advertising as deemed appropriate by Maid Brigade for their operating territory. The company also offers additional, voluntary training programs for staff.
