Franchise Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Home Helpers Home Care seeks individuals with strong managerial and business acumen, a good moral character, business reputation, and credit rating. Ideal candidates should demonstrate an aptitude for conducting a home care business, potentially evidenced by prior related business experience. Home Helpers Home Care is also open to existing independent senior or home care business owners who wish to convert their operations. The franchisee must designate an individual (who must be the franchisee or hold at least a 20% ownership interest in the franchisee entity and be a top executive) to be responsible for the general oversight and full-time, hands-on management of the franchised business, completing all mandatory training and dedicating all their energy to the business without other employment. Territory Size Requirements
Home Helpers Home Care territories are defined by specific postal ZIP Codes using the franchisor's mapping system. For the base initial franchise fee, a territory will contain a population of up to 250,000 people. If a franchisee desires a larger territory with a population exceeding 250,000, they must pay an additional fee of $500 for every 1,000 people (or part thereof) over the 250,000 baseline. There is no specified maximum limit on the population for a territory, and population figures are determined using extrapolated census data, demographic data, and business mapping software. Franchisees are allowed to operate from more than one location with prior written approval from Home Helpers Home Care.
Staffing Notes
Home Helpers Home Care requires the franchised business to be directly supervised 'on-premises' by a 'Designated Individual.' This individual must be the franchisee themselves or hold at least a 20% ownership interest if the franchisee is an entity, acting as the chief executive officer or manager. The Designated Individual must devote full-time efforts to managing and operating the business and cannot hold other employment after the business opens. All caregivers providing services must be employees of the franchised business, not independent contractors. Home Helpers Home Care franchisees are responsible for hiring, training, supervising, compensating, and disciplining all their employees, and for establishing all employment policies and maintaining records. While Home Helpers Home Care provides guidance and training materials, the franchisee retains full responsibility for employee training. If the franchisee offers skilled care services, a Director of Clinical Services is also required. Franchisees must ensure a business telephone line is answered by an employee or approved answering service at all times.
