Training & Support Program

Franchisor Assistance

Eggs Up Grill provides franchisees with extensive assistance both before and after their restaurant opens. Before opening, the franchisor consults on and approves proposed sites, reviews and approves lease and space plans, and provides 3 to 6 weeks of initial training for up to two individuals at its headquarters or a designated location. During the restaurant's first week of operation, Eggs Up Grill sends three or more trainers (or one trainer for the third or subsequent restaurant) to assist with training and opening support. Franchisees also receive an Operations Manual, prototype plans for equipment and signage, and lists of approved suppliers. For ongoing support, Eggs Up Grill provides System Standards and purchasing guidance, assistance with advertising and marketing materials, maintains a system-wide website, and offers a list of authorized vendors. The franchisor may also provide guidance on pricing if permitted by law.

Training Location

Spartanburg, SC headquarters or a designated training facility, plus on-site training at the franchisee's restaurant.

Ongoing Support

Eggs Up Grill provides ongoing support to franchisees through various methods. This includes providing System Standards, specifications, and operating procedures, as well as advising on required purchasing and approved operating assets. The franchisor offers assistance with advertising and marketing materials and programs and maintains a system-wide website for promoting Eggs Up Grill restaurants. Franchisees receive a list of authorized vendors and suppliers, and the franchisor may designate minimum or maximum prices for products. Additionally, the Managing Owner and Designated Manager are required to attend an annual meeting of franchise owners, and may be required to attend additional training courses provided by the franchisor or third-party providers, with franchisees responsible for associated costs.

Franchise Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal Eggs Up Grill franchisee, if an entity, must designate a Managing Owner who holds at least a 25% ownership interest and voting power, and who will be responsible for the overall management, direction, and control of the restaurant. This Managing Owner must actively supervise the restaurant's operations and work to promote its success. If the Managing Owner chooses not to be full-time, they must appoint a Designated Manager who has completed the franchisor's training program and is dedicated full-time to supervising the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

Territory Size Requirements

For area development agreements, Eggs Up Grill territories are typically defined by a specific radius, city, county, or other political boundary. The size of these development areas is determined based on demographics, traffic patterns, competition, and site availability. For single unit franchise agreements, a "Search Area" is defined for site location, but it is not a protected territory, rather a geographic area in which to find a site.

Staffing Notes

Eggs Up Grill requires that the Managing Owner, or a Designated Manager who has completed the franchisor's training program, supervises the restaurant's day-to-day operations on a full-time basis. The Designated Manager is not permitted to engage in other significant management activities that could conflict with their responsibilities. Franchisees are solely responsible for all decisions regarding the hiring, firing, training, compensation, and general management of their employees, including compliance with all employment laws. The franchisor may specify other personnel for initial training and may regulate staffing levels, employee qualifications, training, and uniforms through its System Standards.
