Business Summary

Dog Haus Restaurants offer freshly prepared, cooked-to-order, high-quality gourmet hot dogs, sausages, hamburgers, chicken, and plant-based food products. These dishes are served with proprietary sauces and a variety of other related food products, side dishes, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for dining on-premises or for off-premises consumption. Dog Haus provides four different franchise programs: Fast Casual Restaurants, Biergarten Restaurants, and Remote Kitchens (which are delivery-only operations), as well as an Area Development Program for opening multiple units.

Corporate History

Dog Haus Worldwide, LLC was organized in March 2018. Its predecessor, Dog Haus International, LLC, was organized in January 2013 and began offering franchises in May 2013. An affiliate, Dog Haus, LLC (the Operating Company), was established earlier in August 2010 and owned the 'Dog Haus' trade name and trademarks. In April 2018, Dog Haus Worldwide, LLC completed a recapitalization financing transaction, acquiring all existing area development agreements, franchise agreements, franchisee indebtedness, and intellectual property from its predecessor and the Operating Company. Since this transaction, Dog Haus Worldwide, LLC has assumed responsibility for all Dog Haus franchising globally.

Financial Health Notes

Dog Haus's financial statements show a negative Members' Deficit of $(1,452,363) in 2024 and $(2,019,611) in 2023. While the auditors issued an unqualified opinion on the financial statements, the Hawaii state addendum notes that the estimated initial investment for a franchisee exceeds Dog Haus's stockholder's equity (which is a deficit), indicating that Dog Haus may not have sufficient financial resources to provide comprehensive services or support to franchisees.

Financing Details

Dog Haus does not offer any direct or indirect financing options to its franchisees. Additionally, Dog Haus will not guarantee any notes, leases, or other financial obligations for franchisees.

Franchise Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile

Dog Haus seeks franchisees who will designate a Principal Owner to be responsible for the restaurant's operational decisions. This Principal Owner must dedicate their full time to the Dog Haus Restaurant and hold at least a 10% equity and voting interest in the franchise (unless it's a publicly held entity). Franchisees must also appoint a General Manager to oversee the business when the Principal Owner is absent. Both the Principal Owner and General Manager must complete the ServSafe Food Safety Certification Program and the Certified Beer Server Program before the restaurant opens.

Territory Size Requirements

Dog Haus grants franchisees a protected territory, typically defined as a 0.5 to 5-mile radius around their approved restaurant location. The exact size of this protected area is determined based on factors like demographics, population size, age and income levels, surrounding retail businesses, road visibility, traffic patterns, and geographical barriers. This protected area ensures Dog Haus will not open or franchise another restaurant within that specific radius.

Staffing Notes

Dog Haus requires franchisees to designate a Principal Owner who dedicates full-time efforts to the restaurant's operations. A General Manager must also be appointed to oversee the business when the Principal Owner is absent. Franchisees are responsible for providing initial, additional, and refresher training for their other employees. Both the Principal Owner and General Manager, as well as other supervisory or managerial staff, must successfully complete the ServSafe Food Safety Certification Program. The Principal Owner and General Manager also need to successfully complete the Certified Beer Server Program.
