Renewal Conditions
To renew the franchise agreement, CareBuilders At Home franchisees must provide written notice between nine and six months before the initial term ends. They must be in substantial compliance with the current agreement throughout the initial term and in full compliance at its expiration. Franchisees are required to enter into the then-current form of franchise agreement and related documents, which may have materially different terms and conditions, including potentially higher fees. They must be able to maintain possession of the approved site through a lease acceptable to the franchisor, and refurbish or renovate their office to meet current brand standards. All monetary obligations to CareBuilders At Home and its affiliates must be current at the time of renewal and have been current for the preceding 12 months. Finally, franchisees must sign a general release of claims against CareBuilders At Home and pay a renewal fee of $5,000.

CareBuilders At Home franchisees are granted a Designated Territory defined by ZIP codes, which is anticipated to include a population of approximately 30,000 to 40,000 people aged 65 or older. A specific list of ZIP codes for each territory is included in the Franchise Agreement.
Staffing Notes
CareBuilders At Home offices must hire administrative staff; however, all private-care personnel who provide services to clients are employees of CareBuilders At Home, LLC (the franchisor), not the franchisee. CareBuilders At Home manages the payroll and makes hiring/termination decisions for these caregivers. Caregivers must be qualified, licensed, credentialed, and screened according to the Operations Manual, including criminal background and drug screenings. Franchisees are responsible for recruiting, evaluating, and training these private-care employees. The franchisee owner must work full-time in the business, and any hired manager must also complete initial training and be approved by the franchisor. All administrative employees who handle confidential information must sign a confidentiality and non-compete agreement.
