Franchise Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
Butterfly Home Care is seeking qualified individuals to operate its home care agencies. While prior experience in the healthcare industry is not strictly required, candidates must obtain all necessary licenses to provide the approved services and operate the business within their designated territory. For the first two years of operation, the franchisee (or their owner, if an entity) must serve as the Designated Manager, directly supervising day-to-day operations on a full-time basis, living within an hour's drive of the territory, and successfully completing the initial training program. If operating multiple units, Designated Managers for each location must take ownership of local operations, be present in one of the protected territories' offices full-time, and complete the initial training. Additionally, Butterfly Home Care franchisees are required to employ a full-time salesperson dedicated to making daily sales calls.

Territory Size Requirements
Butterfly Home Care typically awards a designated territory based on a geographical area around the agency's premises, generally containing a population of 200,000 to 300,000 people. The boundaries of this territory can be defined using zip codes, streets, natural or man-made landmarks, or county lines, and are determined by factors like population density, potential client numbers, and market saturation.
Staffing Notes
Butterfly Home Care requires franchisees to employ qualified personnel to provide approved in-home care services, ensuring all Authorized Caregivers possess necessary licenses and certifications for their designated territory. Each agency must have at least one Nurse Director, who must be a Registered Nurse, responsible for overseeing caregivers and service delivery. Additionally, franchisees need a sufficient number of Direct Support Professionals and Personal Care Aides to meet client demand. While the franchise expects 10 to 20 caretakers per business, it also mandates a full-time salesperson for daily sales calls. For multi-unit operators, Butterfly Home Care reserves the right to require an additional full-time Director of Nursing and more licensed PCAs as needed for oversight.
