Litigation Summary
Bio-One has a history of five disclosed legal actions. Currently, Bio-One is involved in one ongoing lawsuit. A former franchisee, Kevin Jameson, filed a complaint on October 9, 2024, in California Superior Court, which was later removed to federal court. The suit alleges various civil claims, including breach of contract and issues related to required supplies, and seeks monetary damages. Bio-One intends to defend these claims vigorously, and a motion to stay pending arbitration is awaiting a decision. Historically, Bio-One has settled four regulatory actions. In 2018, Bio-One entered a consent order with California for selling a franchise without proper registration, paying $2,500. In 2020, Bio-One settled a similar unregistered franchise sale in Illinois, paying $2,000. Later in 2020, Washington's Securities Division issued a consent order, leading Bio-One to agree to cease and desist violations of the Franchise Investment Protection Act and pay a $1,000 investigative fee. In 2021, Bio-One again faced a California consent order for omitting disclosure of its former president's three felony convictions in its 2021 registration application, agreeing to desist from violating the California Franchise Investment Law.
