Business Summary
Antioch Pizza Shop offers franchises for fast-casual restaurant businesses specializing in pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and desserts. The business operates under a proprietary system that includes distinctive building designs, decor, recipes, and advertising programs. Franchisees can choose from four formats: a traditional dine-in restaurant, a take-out/delivery restaurant, a smaller express restaurant with a more limited menu, or a mobile food truck/trailer with a limited menu. Some locations may also offer beer and wine to customers.
Corporate History
Antioch Pizza Shop has a long operational history, with the original restaurant opening in 1977. Wix Pizza, Inc., an affiliate of the franchisor, acquired the assets of the original Antioch Pizza Shop in 2008. The franchisor, Wix Franchise, Inc., was officially formed in Illinois in October 2015 and began offering Antioch Pizza Shop franchises in 2016. While Wix Franchise, Inc. itself has not operated Antioch Pizza Shops, its owners are involved in several affiliate companies that have operated these restaurants. In 2024, Antioch Pizza Shop expanded its reach by licensing The After Midnight Group LLC to offer Antioch Pizza Shop branded pizzas in their Cowboy Jack's restaurants.

Financial Health Notes
Antioch Pizza Shop's financial statements show positive working capital and net income over the last three years, with a notable increase in cash and net income in 2024. Despite these positive indicators, the FDD explicitly lists a "Special Risk" highlighting that Antioch Pizza Shop's financial condition "calls into question the Franchisor's financial ability to provide services and support to you." This concern is reinforced by the Illinois Attorney General's Office, which has required Antioch Pizza Shop to defer initial franchise fees until pre-opening obligations are met, specifically citing concerns about the franchisor's financial condition. This suggests that while recent financial performance is positive, there are underlying concerns about Antioch Pizza Shop's long-term financial stability and capacity to fully support its franchisees.
Financing Details
Antioch Pizza Shop does not offer any direct or indirect financing to its franchisees. Additionally, Antioch Pizza Shop does not guarantee any franchisee notes, leases, or other financial obligations.

Training & Support Program
Franchisor Assistance
Antioch Pizza Shop provides comprehensive support to its franchisees. Before opening, Antioch Pizza Shop assists with evaluating and approving the proposed site, including the commissary for Food Truck/Trailer franchises. It offers architectural guidelines, color schemes, and advisory assistance for construction, equipment, and fixtures. Franchisees also receive guidance on purchasing merchandise, equipment, inventory, and supplies from designated or approved suppliers. Advisory assistance is provided for the grand opening marketing campaign. Initial training for the franchisee's principal owner and one designated manager is provided at no additional fee, though travel and accommodation expenses are the franchisee's responsibility. Antioch Pizza Shop also provides 1 to 3 weeks of on-site opening assistance and additional training at the new location, with the duration varying by the type of franchise. During operations, Antioch Pizza Shop assists with developing new products and services, improving business operations, and resolving any operating problems. It establishes suggested pricing for menu items and merchandise and provides an Operations Manual. Antioch Pizza Shop also administers a Marketing Services Fund and may provide a fully optimized and customizable website template. Antioch Pizza Shop restaurant franchisees are granted a protected area within a specific radius from their approved site, typically around 5.5 miles. The exact size of this radius can vary based on local demographics, population density, and proximity to other existing or future Antioch Pizza Shop restaurants; areas with higher population density may have a smaller protected area. For Antioch Pizza Shop Food Truck/Trailer franchisees, the operating area is defined as a 5.5-mile radius around a specified central point. Multi-Unit Developers have a designated Development Area whose size depends on the number of Antioch Pizza Shop Businesses the developer plans to open, the desired development regions, and the franchisor's market analysis.
Staffing Notes
Antioch Pizza Shop does not require individual franchisees to personally manage the business but does recommend it. An on-premises manager is required, and this manager does not need to have an ownership interest in the franchise. Before opening, or whenever a new operating manager is hired, the designated manager must complete the franchisor's initial training program to its satisfaction. Any individual selected to serve as manager must receive prior written approval from the franchisor. All owners, managers, and other employees or affiliates must sign a confidentiality and non-competition agreement. Franchisees are responsible for maintaining an adequate number of neat, clean, competent, and courteous employees to ensure customer satisfaction and consistent service. This includes full responsibility for all employment decisions, such as recruiting, hiring, firing, compensation, benefits, work hours, schedules, rules, supervision, and discipline. All employees must wear uniforms conforming to the franchisor's color, design, and other specifications. Franchisees must conduct employee training in compliance with Antioch Pizza Shop's standards and specifications to maintain system uniformity. For Food Truck/Trailer franchises, only qualified drivers holding an effective license for the vehicle's size and type are permitted to operate the truck.
