Territory Size Requirements

Access Garage Doors territories are defined by population, typically up to 600,000 persons, based on U.S. Census Bureau data for specific zip codes. The size may be larger or smaller depending on population density. Territory size is also influenced by household incomes, demographics, local competition, and the franchisor's assessment of business potential, such as the number and age of residential homes and new construction in the area. Once established, the territory size will not be altered.

Staffing Notes

Access Garage Doors requires franchisees to retain an Operations Manager for direct, day-to-day, full-time supervision of the business. This manager must successfully complete the franchisor's training program. Franchisees must also hire a minimum of one full-time salesperson within 30 days of opening and maintain this position for the entire term of the agreement. Franchisees are solely responsible for all employment decisions, including hiring, training, managing, and firing staff, and determining their compensation and benefits. The franchisor provides recommended guidelines for hiring, including diligent screening with background checks for employees and independent contractors who visit job sites, to prevent employment of individuals with records of criminal behavior. Franchisees must ensure that all staff performing services obtain and maintain any required state licenses or certifications, including lead-based paint certification for at least one person in the business if mandated by the franchisor.
